Company management pays special attention to the personnel qualification. During the employment process candidates pass series of assessments what allows to select most qualified and purposeful people.
During the working process employees participate in trainings, self-study, etc. On the projects they get informed on strong and weak points of their knowledge, and that lets to determine the direction of education.
2 times a year personnel passes attestation and salary could be raised based on the results of it.
First specific - project management using Scrum methodology.(more info)
Scrum is a methodology of iteration development and project progress adjustments based on the client's feedback. Scrum allows the team to select tasks taking into account business priorities and technical abilities as well as decide how to apply it best. On of the Scrum features is a daily 15-minutes meeting which purpose is to understand what was done on the previous day and to correct the working plan for the upcoming day.
3 roles are defined in the team:

Product Owner

A person providing business requirements to the developers and defining the priorities. As a rule it's a client's representative. |

Scrum Master |
Team member acting as a developer or as a architect. Scrum Master's responsibilities include providing maximum performance of a team, coordination between other team members, and timely solution of occurring problems. |

Scrum Team |
A group of 5 to 9 initiative developers. Their first goal is to set an achievable interesting important target. Second one is to achieve it in time with declared quality. |
Second specific is a distributed team.
Team members may be in different cities working together and effectively. For the communication any convenient methods are used. We are actively using Skype at the moment. With the use of Skype we make phone calls, lead video-conferences.
There are some additional requirements for the remotely working personnel
Third specific is a payment based on timesheets.
Works are being paid basing on actual man-hours. Tasks are given daily and employees report the team on their completion. Weekly report forms are filled where completed tasks are noted with their priority and man-hours spent. Scrum Master accepts the timesheet or rejects it if he does not agree with some points. Accepted timesheets are transferred to the accounting department were salary is being charged.
Social package is suggested by the company along with salary. The package includes medical insurance, internet costs compensation, sports club season ticket, lunch compensations (for staff working in the office).
Social package is applied for full-time employed only.

Employees working remotely are required to be responsible and organized;

Weekly scrum-meeting participation is required with the use of Skype conferences.
